About WebsitePulseCheck

WebsitePulseCheck is a free tool that answers one simple question fast: is this website actually down, or is it just me? Enter any URL and we run a real, server-side status check in seconds and tell you whether the site is up, down, slow, or just a parked placeholder — no signup, no clutter.

Why we built it

Every time a site wouldn't load, we'd waste time wondering whether the site was broken or the problem was on our end. Most "is it down" tools either wait for other users to report an outage or only check from your own browser — which gets fooled by parked domains, redirects, and local network issues. We wanted something that gives an immediate, accurate answer, so we built it.

How our checks work

When you check a site, the request runs from our servers — not your browser. That means we can read the true HTTP status code, follow redirects, and inspect the response to tell a live site apart from a parked or placeholder domain that only looks online. Because the check comes from outside your network, an "up" result also tells you that if the site still isn't loading for you, the problem is local — your connection, DNS, or region — rather than the site itself.

What you'll find here

  • An instant checker that works on any website on the web — there's no limit.
  • Dedicated live status pages for popular services like Instagram, Netflix, and PayPal, so you can check the ones people search for most in one click.
  • A blog of practical, plain-English guides on website uptime, downtime causes, error codes, and keeping your own site fast and reliable.

Our commitment

We keep WebsitePulseCheck free, fast, and honest. When we recommend a tool or host in our guides, we only suggest ones we genuinely believe are useful, and we clearly disclose when a link is an affiliate link. Our goal is simple: help you get a straight answer about a website in seconds, and give you the know-how to fix things when something's wrong.
